There's probably not a producer out there who hasn't been mixing and heard that buried bass line lurking beneath everything and desperately wished they could pull it out cleanly to sample it or figure out what the heck it's doing. Before tools like LALAL.AI, that basically meant hunting down the original session files (which you usually never have) or settling for a murky approximation via some hackEQ process. Upload your track to LALAL.AI, and boom, it breaks it down into stems: vocals, drums, bass, piano, guitar, etc. Depending on the stem pack you get. The stems are "clean enough" for pretty much any production purpose, with the stem results – especially vocals – actually passable as legitimately "isolated" to casual listeners. LALAL.AI includes a "Neural Cleaner" to process away any unwanted artefacts within each stem (you can also use this tool to clean noise from voice recordings), making it more than just a music stem separator tool. You can also upload and process videos for those instances when you need to pull audio out of videos without a separate process. The one obvious caveat to LALAL. The issue, though, is that there is always some residual bleeding between stems in busy mixes. Expect a dense, layered electronic mix to show more artefacts between stems than a sparse, simple acoustic mix. The stems are damn good, though, just not always surgical. You pay per minute used or buy bundles, which works out pretty well for occasional use (10 minutes is only about $0.50). Overall, it's about the cleanest stem separation tool you can get your hands on for producers, producers, producers. Remixers, DJs and musicians rejoice.
