Kapwing has no problem running exclusively in the browser, because often, that’s the most effective way to run how a content team operates in the modern era. Nothing to download, no hardware requirements, and everyone can collaborate on the same file in real-time with no sending over Slack. Their suite of tools covers exactly what’s most labor-intensive about the social media production cycle: auto-subtitled in over 70 languages, multilingual translation, background removal, and templated resizing and repurposing into various aspect ratios. The subtitle AI is one of the more effective of its kind; the in-browser counterpart is as accurate as you can hope to get for global social media and is good enough to go for most international content out-of-the-box if you don’t have a dedicated translation process. Having accumulated over 30 million creator accounts over the past few years, it has graduated beyond the startup phase and is stable. Its one true limitation is export speeds: rendering will be slow when compared to a desktop native application; more complex, multi-layered social media content feels labored at export. The free tier limits to one minute per video and adds a watermark, and it’s a somewhat constrictive but still feasible way to evaluate their system. Their Pro at $24 per user per month is a reasonable value if this feature set fills your social and digital teams' content creation needs and fits a strictly collaborative, browser-centric philosophy without software installation.
