Glasp is based on one assumption that almost all reading tools ignore—reading in public holds you more accountable and allows you to interact with fellow like-minded readers. You simply highlight parts of web content and PDFs in an article and add some notes on your highlights, and your highlights are neatly gathered in your shareable profile for other users to view and follow. In other words, it's less a private note-taking tool and more of a social reading layer over the web. Summarization goes hand in hand with your highlighting feature—you can read a summary of an article or video from YouTube before deciding if you want to highlight and dive into the content more. Different AI models (including Claude, Gemini, Mistral, and ChatGPT) are available for summarization so you're able to select the model that best fits the content. Hatch AI, the platform's signature feature, trains your personalized AI clone on your highlights and notes to make new suggestions, continue paragraphs, and resurface ideas that you've collectively compiled through your reading journey. With export integration with Notion, Obsidian, and Roam Research, Glasp syncs seamlessly with your existing notes stack. Plus, there's a student discount on all Pro plans! One thing to consider, however, is that the public-by-default approach is not going to be for everyone, as highlights are by default shared with others, unless you're on the paid plan and explicitly change this. Updates on pricing were made in May 2026. Bottom line—for students and professionals and the perpetually curious reading community, Glasp is truly one of the most unique tools out there.
