Astria is located at the "technical" edge of creating custom avatars and personal imagery. While products like Photo AI and Lensa offer end users a beautifully wrapped-up training experience through an easy-to-use app, Astria gives API and interface access, giving you much more control. All you need to do is upload between 10 and 20 pictures of whatever you'd like to fine-tune (e.g., A person, a character, a visual style, etc.), upload that to Astria to train a fine-tuned custom model (for $1.50), then use it for generating images (at $0.10 a prompt for batches of eight images, or $0.40 per 100 frames of generated video). The company's services take care of managing GPUs and figuring out the best hyperparameters for you to generate the models. Your trained models will be stored for 30 days (or longer for $0.50 per month). There are a lot of use cases like portrait photography and product image generation, photo booth applications and custom character development, with ControlNet, inpainting, super-resolution and photo editing – to name a few, layered on top of your base generated model, and you can have great control over the look of the training through using and training on SDXL models. That said, Astria is designed for those on the other "technical" side of things who want the APIs and want Programmable Image Generation APIs more than they want a nice, easily generated headshot. If what you're looking for is the latter, you're much better off using services like Aragon Headshot Pro and Photo AI. The platform is probably the most flexible offering at this price for companies or developers that are trying to build their applications based on a lot of custom-generated imagery or large production photography.
