Most professional video editors spend their careers at Premiere Pro. The timeline is as deep, the cross-media integration into After Effects, Photoshop, and Audition is unsurpassed, and its support format for everything a camera is capable of shooting (including 8K RED footage) is virtually. Whether you work with documentaries, commercials, or even the latest narratives, if you work with any production format that is not completely determined by speed alone, Premiere Pro remains the industry leader. Of course, AI capabilities, added to Premiere Pro since Adobe Sensei, are now effectively useful and not just a buzzword. Auto Reframe changes the output dimensions for various aspect ratios, reducing constant trimming, while Speech-To-Text Caption provides consistently correct and accurate transcripts in dozens of languages. As is, Audio Remix automatically trims or stretches a musical piece to meet the time signature of its surrounding material. The brand-new AI Generative Extend lets editors magically extend a video clip beyond its natural expiration date, while the Firefly generative tool from Premsersers siblings manages removals. Unfortunately, one unavoidable downside is the price. Although not the highest by absolute numbers ($57.99/month stand-alone or bundled into Adobe Creative Cloud), compared to all of the additional listed editors, this cost still feels significant; after all, the free alternative DaVinci Resolve provides most professional editorial functions. However, if a team is already part of the Adobe ecosystem or you simply use Adobe Creative products beyond editing for any reason, it is quite reasonable. If you simply need adequate editing and not the entire production ecosystem for your content, that just about always means that you are overpaying for it.
